How does Spray Drying equipment work?

The drying equipment requires inert gas, usually nitrogen. The Closed Circulation Drying or Spray Drying system is primarily used for drying materials containing alcohol or flammable or combustible solvents or materials that can easily oxidize so that they do not come into contact with air. By filling with nitrogen and other inert gases, the dryer can protect the materials from air. The product made by this dryer can be used to produce spherical material so that this dryer is ideal for the production of high precision ceramics, tungsten carbide, silicon nitride, nano-ceramics, cemented carbide and other powders, medicinal intermediates and more. TECHMI GROUP’s closed circuit Spray Dryer is a drying equipment specially designed to process sensitive and hazardous materials, such as organic solvents and products with high reactivity. Instead of using air as the drying medium, it employs an inert gas (usually nitrogen) in a closed circulation system. This allows not only the recovery of the powdered product, but also the recovery of organic solvents, reducing emissions and improving process efficiency.

FEATURES: 1. feed system: includes a dosing tank, a solvent tank, a peristaltic feed pump, feed pipes and an atomizer. A special TECHMI explosion-proof atomizing nozzle is used, with a guaranteed life of one year. Heating System: It is operated by electric nitrogen heating system. Pressure regulating control devices and temperature accuracy of ±2 °C. Maximum heater temperature is 110 °C. 3. Drying Tower: 304 stainless steel tower body, explosion-proof lighting, gas distributor, temperature control and pressure relief device. It contains air inlet and outlet piping, oxygen content measuring sensor and a filter in the inlet piping. 4. Dust and Solvent Recovery: The gas discharged from the drying tower contains dust and organic solvent vapor. They are separated by a filter device, recovering the dust and directing the organic gas to the condenser for reuse. 5. Gas Cycle: It is completed with a set of circulation fans. 6. Condensing System: Consists of a refrigeration unit, condenser, refrigerant circulation pump, filter, heat exchanger and connecting piping. Wet gas (including organic solvent vapor) from the dust collector enters the condenser. The condenser cools the gas, removing the liquid and returning it to the gas circulation system. The condensed organic solvent is automatically recovered in the solvent tank. The condensation temperature is ≤12 °C. The device is special for organic solvents and uses the inert gas medium formed by nitrogen circulation to replace the usual air medium for spray drying. In addition to recovering products, organic solvents can also be recovered. According to the relevant characteristics of organic solvents, a set of closed-cycle spray system is specially designed. The new equipment developed by our company does not necessarily need to reach the boiling point for evaporation. As long as the alcohol in the outside air is not saturated, the alcohol can also evaporate at 30-40 degrees Celsius.
